Per-developer pricing charges you for every engineer on the payroll. PURA charges one flat fee for the reviews you actually run. Put your numbers in.

Hold review volume steady and grow the team. Seat pricing climbs with every hire; PURA does not move.
Developers · break-even at 16, and the gap widens with every hire after that.
Which of those seats reviewed anything?
On a per-developer licence you pay the same for the engineer who shipped forty pull requests last month and the one who shipped none — the designer-turned-contributor, the SRE who touches one repo a quarter, the two people on parental leave, the contractor who left in March.
PURA bills the work, not the headcount. Add every engineer, every repo, and every team; the price only moves when review volume does.

PURA vs CodeRabbit
Both post AI reviews on your pull requests. The difference is what you are billed for — and how much control you keep over the model doing the reviewing.

You don’t have to bet the org
No migration, no rip-and-replace, no procurement cycle before you have real numbers.
Run it alongside what you have
Install the GitHub App and point PURA at a few repos. Your current reviewer keeps running; nothing is migrated and nothing is switched off. One month free, no card.
Compare the invoices, then cancel one
After a month the spend dashboard shows what PURA actually cost across those repos, per team and per model. Roll it out wider and drop the seats you no longer need.
Why these numbers hold up
A savings calculator is only worth as much as the assumptions behind it.
Published prices, not estimates
Both sides use list price. PURA's comes from the pricing page; CodeRabbit's from their public plans doc, with the date we checked it printed on this page.
Model spend counted, not hidden
PURA is bring-your-own-key, so inference is a real cost you carry. It is added to our own side of every figure here rather than left out to flatter the total.
The ceiling is enforced, not promised
Budget caps pause reviews when they are reached. The number you set is the number you pay — that is a product behaviour, not a billing aspiration.
How this is calculated
- PURA's platform fee comes from the plan whose monthly review allowance covers the volume you set — $39, $99, $199 a month. Both sides are priced at annual-commitment list price, shown amortised across twelve months.
- Model spend is added on top of PURA's fee, because PURA is bring-your-own-key: your provider bills you at cost and PURA takes no cut. We assume $0.20 a review — a mixed-routing blend of lean and premium models for a review of roughly 60k input and 6k output tokens.
- CodeRabbit is priced per developer per month, with model inference included in the seat price. Team size, not review volume, drives that bill — which is why the two lines diverge as you grow.
- Neither column includes discounts you may negotiate, and neither attempts to price the engineering time an AI review saves. That number varies far too much between teams to put on a landing page.
Estimates, not a quote. Your real bill depends on the models you pick, how well your routing rules match your codebase, and how much of your PR traffic you route through review at all.
Questions about cost
What finance asks before signing off.
Is PURA cheaper than CodeRabbit?+
For most teams, yes — because PURA charges a flat fee for review volume while CodeRabbit charges per developer seat. The more engineers you have relative to your pull request volume, the bigger the gap. A small team that reviews a very high number of PRs can be cheaper on seat pricing; the calculator shows you honestly which side you land on.
Does the PURA price include the AI model cost?+
No, and that is deliberate. PURA is bring-your-own-key: you connect your own OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google account and pay that provider directly at cost, with no markup from us. The calculator adds an estimate of that spend to PURA’s side so the comparison is like for like.
What counts as a review?+
One pull request that PURA reviews and routes to one of your agents. Draft pull requests never trigger a review, and PRs that select no review agent — no-match or budget-exhausted — are never counted. Allowances reset on the first of each month, and there is no overage — PURA pauses rather than billing you more.
How do I lower my model spend per review?+
Write routing rules that match the risk of the change. Send docs, typo fixes, and dependency bumps to a lean model and reserve premium models for auth, payments, and core logic. The spend analytics dashboard shows which repos and teams drive cost so you can tune the rules that matter.
What happens if we go over our review allowance?+
PURA pauses reviews for the rest of the month rather than charging overage. You can move up a plan at any time, and per-agent, per-team, per-repo, and per-provider budget caps let you decide which work keeps running as you approach the limit.
Do we pay more as the team grows?+
Not for PURA. Contributors, repositories, and teams are unlimited on every plan — the only thing that moves the price is review volume. Adding twenty engineers who each open a couple of PRs a month may not change your plan at all.
